Dear Journal,                                                                    January 24, 2011

Hello again! Just an undate on what I've been doing since the last journal entry.

The month of November was super exciting. I got the opportunity to be interviewed by Andrew Robinson from "The Compass" and a story about me appeared in the November 15-21 issue of "The Compass"! Also, throught November, I had the privilage of attending two great charity events, "Choirs of a Cause" and The KIXX Country Toy Tree. "Choirs for a Cause" was a concert held by WAR CHILD MUN to raise money for war-affected children around the world. It was a huge success. Also, I attended the KIXX Country Toy Tree at the TCP mall. There was a great turn out and the feeling of knowing your donation would put a smile on a child's face was fantastic. Along with these two events, I also was invited to model an evening gown at "An Evening of Fashion and Fun" held by Croix Hill Bridal to fundraise for the TCP Health Foundation. It was an awesome success and I had so much fun!

December was definately my most craziest month so far. Between school, extra-currculiars, Christmas preparations, appearances, and even a stay in the PICU in between, I was definately kept on my toes. The first event I attending in December was the Memory Tree in Whitbourne. It was a great way to start off December. Everyone there was so kind and it was a great success. I attended nine events throughout the month of Decemeber. I attended three christmas parades, Carbonear, Heart's Delights, and of course, Cavendish. They were so much fun, depite not being able to feel our toes afterwards, right Jessica? haha! I also attended three tree lightings where I got the opportunity to meet several Children's Wish Foundation children, which was very touching. Right before Christmas, I also had the opportunity to attend Children's Christmas Storytime and a Charity Concert in aid of the Community Food Sharing Association NL, which was held by Miss Avalon Achievement, Emily Leonard! Despite the weather, the event was still a huge success.
I hope everyone had a happy holidays and a fantantic new year!

Sincerely,
Shealyn Jerrett

Dear Journal,                                                                         October 24th, 2010

Hi Everyone! My name is Shealyn Jerrett and I am the newly crowned Miss Teen Trinity-Conception 2010-2011!
It's been exactly a month since I was crowned and I don't think it has really hit me yet. The whole pageant experience has been phenomenal ! It allowed me to meet 13 awesome girls, each one with amazing qualities and acomplishments to be proud of. I'm truly so greatful to have met all of you and I hope to keep in touch!

As soon as I was crowned, my co-ordinator warned me that I would be fulfilling my duties without any real time for my crowning to sink in and boy, was she ever right. Approximately 12 hours after I was crowned, I was back over to Harbour Grace for the Fall Fair Parade and the Miss Newfoundland and Labrador pageant. It was my first official appearance as Miss Teen Trinity-Conception and I loved it! I got the privilege to be driven in the back of a convertible with Miss Community Gardens, Sara McFadden. I then attended the Miss Newfoundland and Labrador pageant the following two nights. Spending time with so many other titleholders really made my transition into being a titleholder a little smoother. I would also like to congratulate the new Miss Newfoundland and Labrador 2010-2011, Rebecca Dawe. I hope you have an amazing year!

Throughout the month of October, I have been so busy! I have currently completed 13 appearances, including my photoshoot with our official photography, Rodney Daniel Photography. This was my first official photoshoot and it was so fun dressing up and  the shots were  awesome!  A HUGE thank you to Rodney Daniel Photography and Croix Hill Bridal! One of my favorite appearances this month would have to be the TCP Health Telethon, which was October 3rd. Being one of my first appearances and one of the first times I was on T.V, I was definitely a little nervous. However, as soon as I got in front of the camera, I loved it! It was a great cause and I was so honored to be able to be a part of it.

Another one of my favorite appearances over the month of October would have to be watching the Miss Teen Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador pageant. This was the first time I actually watched a provinicial pageant and it was awesome. Every girl there was a true role model for today's youth and have already accomplished so much in their lives. A HUGE congratulations goes to Kora Liegh Russell, the new Miss Teen Achievment 2010-2011. Your a true role model and I hope you enjoy your title as much as I am enjoying mine.

I am truly having the time of my life as the new Miss Teen Trinity-Conception. I love meeting new people at each event I attend and seeing the support I have recieved from the Trinity-Conception area has been amazing. I'd like to personally thank the local communities and organizations for allowing me to attend these events. Your support has made me even more proud to say I am a representative for such a great area!

Sincerely,
Shealyn Jerrett
